Merrist Wood has a dedicated and historic Horticultural Department and our tutors all have expert industry experience. Attending a short course not only gives you new skills, it's also a good way to have a go before a career change.
Anybody with an interest in gardening and horticulture, but especially if you thinking of buying or revitalising your containers and baskets.

Hands on, practical session led by a member of our expert horticulture team.
Further short courses in various aspects of horticulture and garden maintenance. Full or part time study in horticulture with City and Guilds and the RHS qualifications, at Merrist Wood.
You will be taking home a planter or a hanging basket at the end of the course.
All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position.
There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding (identified as 'no fee remission available on this course').
