Animal Behaviour and Welfare BSc (Hons) Top Up Degree - 2017:18

This programme is designed for students who have already completed a Foundation Degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare or equivalent qualification. It allows for more in-depth specialist knowledge development and the opportunity for research into a chosen field of study. You will assess animal welfare and behaviour in a range of settings, including farming, zoos, the leisure and entertainment sectors, laboratory and domestic environments.

Animal Care BTEC Level 2 Diploma - 2017:18

Animal Care Taster Day (Level 2) - 2016:17

This taster day is for anyone looking to apply for the Animal Care Level 2 programme this September. You will join a group of Level 2 Animal Care students for the day. You will be working in our brand new Animal Management Centre and the range of species that we have. Activities could include; feeding, cleaning, handling and learning how to work with a wide range of species. You will also partake in a range of theory lessons to give an insight into a day of being an Animal Management student at the College.

Please note, if you have already applied for the programme and are awaiting an interview or have already been interviewed you will automatically be invited to a taster day with us in July. These taster days are for prospective students who have not yet applied for the programme.

Animal Management Access to Higher Education Diploma - 2017:18

This course is designed with adult learners in mind to prepare them for a degree level programme in the animal field. The course will assume no prior knowledge or experience in the animal industry as many adult learners are changing careers. The course will help to develop a range of academic and study skills for those returning to education. The course will develop a range of practical employability skills as well as academic skills should the learners choose to progress to employment rather than higher education.

Animal Management BSc (Hons) Top Up Degree - 2017:18

Designed to extend skills and knowledge learned at Foundation Degree level. You will have the opportunity through the professional development module to advance your professional and/or academic career prospects whilst studying units in business and management related to your industry. You will also be able to extend your animal management training and benefit from a range of industry-related and career development opportunities in various commercial settings. Animal Science FdSc Foundation Degree - 2017:18

This programme is subject to validation. Investigate the physiology, behaviour and welfare of a range of species underpinned by contemporary issues in animal science, supported by the study of the wide range of species in the College's Animal Management Centre and in relevant commercial settings through talks and demonstrations from guest speakers and trips. Underpinning theory is delivered in the classroom. Industrial experience, assessed through the professional development module over two years, will be undertaken in a related field and will give you invaluable experience in your specialism with 200 hours to be undertaken each year at a relevant employer ideally with domestic species.

Arboriculture (Trees and Timber) Intermediate Level Apprenticeship - 2017:18

This apprenticeship covers the main occupational areas within the trees and timber industry. This industry covers the establishment, care, maintenance and management of trees, woodlands and forests, as well as the production of wood and timber products.

Arboriculture ABC Level 2 Certificate (Theory only) - 2017:18

The qualification is ideal for novices and experienced workers within the industry who are unable to commit time to studying a full time course. The course covers the theory element of the qualification (ABC Certificate in Arboriculture - exclusive of NPTC training, registration and assessment).
