What is a Centre of Vocational Excellence?

Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) provide outstanding education and training in a particular area. Guildford College is one of only two Centres of Vocational Excellence in Accounting and Finance in the South East of England. We work closely with businesses and industry sectors to develop and provide programmes that meet the needs of the local and national market place. Our courses are vocationally focused and industry specific, enabling you to develop the skills and knowledge you need to work in today’s business world.

Our aim is to enhance the skills and careers of those already in work, improve the employability of those in the labour market and offer a route into the industry to anyone seeking work in the sector.

We offer qualifications in book-keeping, accounting and business, at levels from foundation to advanced including Apprenticeships, A Levels, degrees and NVQs. Business graduates can hope to find employment as accounts administrators, treasury trainees, chartered accountancy trainees, company secretaries, marketing assistants and many other professions.

What does Guildford College?

Business centre in three training rooms equipped with intellidesks, interactive whiteboards and wireless access laptops
Guildford is one of only three colleges in the country to pilot the Academy of Finance scheme. This offers a fast track route into the industry via a specialist course and paid internship at a leading financial services company
The College is the largest provider of Apprenticeships in the area including vocations within financial services
Learning Resource Centre containing a comprehensive collection of textbooks and other study aids including journals, newspapers and audio-visual materials
Over 700 internet-connected computers, running industry standard software
The virtual learning environment GO! (Blackboard) – providing students with electronic access to course notes and information

High level of student support including careers service, welfare team, tutorials, additional learning support
