Schools Enterprise Challenge

Are you the next dragon?

Win £1,000 for your school if you can you come up with an innovative idea or product!

Merrist Wood College is challenging you to come up with an idea or product that will deliver a benefit to your school. Your idea should be something that will save your school money or that will help the school raise money. So, start thinking about:

  • Setting up a small business during break times - what would your fellow students want to buy?
  • Running an event - could you sell tickets, or charge for stalls?
  • Going green - could you save energy in your school to cut down the electricity, gas or water bills?

What do we need to do?
Working individually, or as part of a team you will need to come up with a plan and pitch your idea to a panel of experts at the College. The pitch will need to be filmed (this can simply be on an iPhone, as long the presentation is audible, or on a hand-held camera) be no more than five minutes in duration and be accompanied by a written plan, which should be no more than four sides of A4.

The plan should consist of the following:

  •  Introduction
  •  Product/ idea to be developed
  •  Potential impact/ benefit for the school
  •  Budget
  •  Implementation Plan
