Previous Landscaping student, Will Burberry, is currently representing Team UK in Landscape Gardening at WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi.

The competition, which runs from 14-19 October at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), welcomes students from 77 countries and regions from around the world to compete in their own vocational specialisms.

“WorldSkills Members demonstrates that traditional trades together with technology-based multi-skilled vocations are crucial to a thriving global economy and the social and economic well-being of people everywhere.”

Will, 21, completed his Horticulture (Landscape) Apprenticeship with Merrist Wood College in 2014, and won the Apprentice of the Year Award during his time at the College. Will is now owner and founder of Radial Landscape Construction Hard Landscapers covering Surrey & Sussex.

Here are some photos from the Team UK send off at the House of Commons, the opening ceremony and first day of the competition.
