Compassion in the Mix at College Cake Bake

Good eggs from Guildford College’s Merrist Wood Campus donned their aprons to bake cruelty-free cakes to raise funds for farm animal welfare charity Compassion in World Farming.

Using free range eggs from hens humanely reared by lecturer Luke Gates, the Foundation Degree in Animal Management students whipped up cup cakes and tray bakes to sell on campus for Bake With Compassion Week. Pictured here are students Jessica Heyward, aged 20, and Michael Strickland, aged 26, with two of the chickens - a cross breed and a Polish - who provided eggs for the cakes.
