School leavers new to the Guildford College Group in September 2012 will be able to apply for a free daily lunch, in line with a new directive recently released by Surrey County Council.

The new initiative is open to all those who were in receipt of a free school lunch in year 11 at school. It will also be open to those who did not receive free school meals but who have since experienced a change in their circumstances. Students need to be resident in the areas of Elmbridge, Epsom, Ewell, Guildford, Mole Valley, Reigate, Banstead, Runnymead, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath, Tandridge, Waverley or Woking.

The free lunch is likely to consist of the College’s meal deal to the value of £2.50, which includes a sandwich, fruit or packet of crisps and a carton of apple or orange juice or bottle of water.

Students will be able to find out more about the scheme when they join the College.
