Twin lambs Phil and Lizzie
Spring has arrived at Merrist Wood College, with the birth of the first twin lambs, warming the hearts of the students and staff. The twins, called Phil and Lizzie, thanks to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations this year, and are the first of many being born daily. The lambing is part of a countryside course module, which allows the students hands-on experience of the births and also looking after the lambs and ewes afterwards. The College’s public lambing day ‘Fleecy Frolics’ is on Sunday 29 April 10am – 4pm. The day is a celebration of nature and countryside crafts and will feature lamb cuddling, animal handling, farm visits, countryside crafts and more…see you there!
