Since 1973 Merrist Wood has won over 40 medals at RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows.
Climbing high
Over 10,000 arboriculture students have trained at Merrist Wood since 1968 and are now practising throughout the UK and across the world including Hawaii, New Zealand, the USA, Canada and Australia.
Olympic approval
Our equine area is a one of the top equestrian centres in the south east and a pre-Olympic training venue for London 2012.
Chelsea Football Club
Merrist Wood College works in close association with Chelsea FC Foundation and hosts both a male and female elite College Academy Programme for under 19s players
Unique opportunities
Golf students have undertaken work experience at the 2010 Ryder Cup; Rugby students have trialled for the London Colleges Rugby League where their potential as England players was spotted by a Harlequins coach; Animal Management students look after a menagerie of lizards, tarantulas, snakes, birds and rodents on the estate; Public Services students were chosen for coveted places on British Schools Exploring Society expeditions to the Himalayas and the Arctic and much more!

Equine stars
Merrist Wood Equine Arena has hosted competitions, clinics and lecture/demonstrations with riders and trainers such as Kyra Kyrklund, Carl Hester, William and Pippa Funnell, Tim Stockdale, Monty Roberts, Yogi Breisner and Fiona Bigwood.

A sense of history
Merrist Wood dates back to 1318, when it was first mentioned in historical documents. The farmstead probably dates back to pre-Domesday.
