|Aerial Tree Rigging - 2018:19
This three day course is designed to prepare the experienced arborist for the City and Guild NPTC assessment in Aerial Tree Rigging unit 309.
|Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting - 2018:19
This course provides an introduction to the maintenance and use of chainsaws for groundwork operations leading to NPTC units 201 and 202 (formerly NPTC unit 30). The course includes: Identifying, inspecting and commenting on key parts of the chainsaw, preparing and operating the chainsaw to work safely without risk to the user, other people and the environment and carrying out daily and routine maintenance on the chainsaw.
|Chainsaw Refresher Day - 2018:19
This course covers the update on legislation, industry best practice, techniques and equipment. You must hold the relevant NPTC cert prior to attending.
|Chainsaw Use from a Rope and Harness - 2018:19
A primarily practical course providing the student with a qualification in chainsaw use from a rope and harness. This course leads to NPTC units 206, 306 and 308 (formerly known as units 38 and 39).
|FEPA PA1 Safe Use of Pesticides Award - 2018:19
PA1 covers the principles of safe pesticide application. This is a theory based unit and must be passed in conjunction with at least one of the practical based units [PA2 and / or PA6]
|FEPA PA2 Safe Use of Pesticides Practical - 2018:19
This PA2 course is needed for pesticide/chemical applications using a boom sprayer and candidates must also have passed the PA1 module. The course includes: Personal protective Equipment [PPE], Interpreting product information [product labels],mixing the correct amount of pesticide /chemical safe application and weather conditions.
|FEPA PA6 Safe Use of Pesticides Practical - 2018:19
The PA6 course is needed for pesticide/chemical applications using a knapsack/hand held sprayer. Candidates must have passed the PA1 module. The PA6 course includes: Personal Protective Equipment PPE, interpreting product information [product labels], mixing the correct amount of pesticide/chemical safe application, weather conditions.
|Manually Fed Wood Chipper Operations - 2018:19
This course is aimed at arborists, landscapers, grounds persons, estate worker and any other persons who may need to operate and maintain a manually fed wood chipper. The course will cover basic generic and site risk assessments, current H&S legislation and PPE; however, it will consist mainly of the practical elements so you will be carrying out pre-start and post-operational checks, routine maintenance tasks and removal and replacement of the chipper knives. You will be asked to operate the wood chipper in a safe manner taking into account site and operator safety.
|Safe Use of Stump Grinders Level 2 Award - 2018:19
This course is aimed at arborists, landscapers, grounds persons, estate workers and any other persons who may need to operate and maintain a stump grinder. The course will cover basic generic and site risk assessments, current Health and Safety legislation and PPE. However, it will consist mainly of the practical elements so you will be carrying out pre-start and post-operational checks, routine maintenance tasks and removal and replacement of the grinding teeth. You will be asked to operate the stump grinder in a safe manner taking into account site and operator safety
|Tree Felling - 2018:19
This 3 day course is designed to prepare a novice chainsaw user for the NPTC unit 203 assessment (previously known as unit CS 31). The course includes: Risk assessments and emergency procedures on a work site, selecting and preparing equipment required for safe and effective felling and felling small trees safely and accurately using appropriate methods.
