Still Undecided about College?

Collecting your exam results is a nerve-wracking time; you'll probably find yourself surrounded by grinning mates who have aced their exams – and also a few people frowning over some less-than-ideal results!

Whatever your results, whether they were better or worse than expected, if you’re having second thoughts about your plans for September, then we can help!

If you don't have the grades you need...

Again, the best course of action is to speak to the Sixth Form or College you have applied to. In some cases, you may be let onto the course regardless. However, please note that this does not always apply.

At Merrist Wood College, we will look at your results and the course you are interested in studying. It may be possible for you to still enrol on your course, but if not, we may be able to offer you the same subject at a lower level, or look at alternative options such as an Apprenticeship.

If you haven't passed your GCSE English and/or Maths, we offer classes to prepare you to retake these GCSEs, which you will be able to study alongside your main course.

If you don't think Further Education is for you...

Not sure you fancy going into Further Education? If you decide to take an alternative route, there are a number of different options for you to explore.

You might go for a vocational course (such as Animal Management, Floristry or Landscaping) rather than completing A Levels. Alternatively, you may want to go straight into the world of work and get an Apprenticeship or seek employment.

Our impartial Careers, Advice and Guidance team at Merrist Wood College can support you in making the best decision for you. Just give the team a call on Tel: 01483 88 40 40.

This tells you everything that you need to bring to your enrolment session. Please make sure that you read this document carefully, bring the form and the original copied of any documents needed.

  • Populated Qualifications on Entry Form (white form in your Enrolment Pack)

This provides details of your verified qualifications previously provided. If there are any missing, or any incorrectly recorded, please amend the form and bring it with you alongside a copy of the exam results / certificates.

Should only be completed if there is no populated form in your pack. Please record all of your qualifications, dates and grades. You will need to bring your exam results / certificates with you so that we can verify the information.
