Don't worry, we've got it covered!

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, our Student Support and Advice and Admissions teams are still offering guidance by phone and email, if you want to speak to someone directly.

"I don't know where anything is on campus."

Even if you haven’t already visited the college at an open event or school taster day, don’t worry! You will get the chance to take part in orientation days within your first week, so you will very quickly get to know where everything is. And even if you get a bit lost to start with, you can ask anyone for help – we're all very friendly and eager to help!

If you haven’t been to one of our Open Events yet, there is every chance you can still attend one this summer! Please be aware, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are still planning on running our Summer Open Events in June as planned. However, due to the current circumstances, these events are likely to take the form of virtual online events – but rest assured, you'll still get to speak to our tutors if you have any questions before you start in September. More information will be available soon on our Events page

"I haven't got any friends who are going to the same college!"

Don’t forget, strangers are just the friends you haven’t met yet! There's a lot to take in when you first start with us and a lot of new faces, it’s a very exciting time!  Coupled with all the new tutors and other staff then that is a lot of new people to meet!

However, bear in mind that everyone else is in the same boat and probably thinking the exact same thing as you: "how am I going to meet people and make new friends?". Well, we've got you covered with our Welcome Week activities in the first week of July . As of now, these are still going ahead, but this is under review due to the Covid-19 pandemic and we will update students nearer the time.

We also offer a fantastic Student's Union across all of our campuses.

When you enrol on an Activate Learning programme, you'll be invited to one of our Student Welcome Days in the summer.

Welcome Week hosts a variety of interactive sessions and icebreaker activities at our colleges. Just bring along a big smile and plenty of enthusiasm! You'll make a load of new friends before you start your programme in September.

There are also opportunities to meet new people when you start studying, within your tutor group, classes and societies. If you're still feeling shy or anxious, you can always speak to one of our Student Support team

"I have to pay for my course and I'm worried about money."

If you have money concerns before you start, we have an array of bursaries available for eligible students. Check out our funding page for more info. Also, be sure to speak to our Advice and Admissions team when you come to collect your lanyard.

We also offer a variety of student support and learning support services. So, if you have any problems or concerns at all, just let us know. We are there to support your experience at college every step of the way.

"What do I do on my first day?"

On your first day with us in September, please report to reception and your tutor will meet you there. You will need a pen and notepad for your first day. Oh, and don’t forget to bring some money for lunch or pack your own! We have cafes and restaurants onsite if you are feeling peckish.

"I haven't applied yet!"

No need to panic just yet! We still have some spaces and are still accepting applications -  to apply for a place on one of our courses click here

If you haven't applied yet or are concerned about the impact Covid-19 has had on your exam results, please read our statement on the Corona virus and how it will affect exams and applications. We will have further updates on entry requirements for all courses starting in September in the coming days. "

And if you need some more advice on what course to apply for, please fill out our simple enqury form here and one of our Advice and Guidance team will be in touch - don't worry we'll get you sorted!

"I’ve changed my mind about my course"

If you've changed your mind about a course that you've already applied for and think you need some additional advice or guidance about your next steps in September, no need to panic!  Contact our schools partnership and careers teams.
